Solved Focus Assist & Do Not Disturb Toggle Scripts (.exe)

just adding some more scripts i had to throw together real quick in case anyone wants them.

Focus Assist Toggle (will turn on or off and vice versa when ran again)

Do Not Disturb (separate files - one for ON and one for OFF as the number of keystrokes is different)

replace .txt file extension with .exe

*if it is too fast for your pc to register all of the keystrokes, let me know and i'll upload a slower version.

i believe this is similar to the nigh light one, but i cannot get it to toggle. i believe it is tied to either:

found the reg_binary tied to it. need to figure out the byte_array to implement the toggle.

i'm stumped. i posted a new thread about it to see who can assist.

Toggling "Do Not Disturb" changes the following reg value:


$Date is a byte array of the current FileTimeUtc, expressed in little-endian format
$Rule is a byte array of the string "Microsoft.QuietHoursProfile.PriorityOnly" (DND is on) or "Microsoft.QuietHoursProfile.Unrestricted" (DND is off), with each successive character interleaved with a null character (00).

You need to restart the user's WpnUserService_[hashvalue], to force the changes to take effect. Otherwise you have to logout or restart Explorer.

Once you've got either of these abominations disabled, why would you want to toggle them back on???

You might want to script a temporarily change when running a specific app. The notifications settings go into more detail (the further you go from W10 to W11), but DND is fairly universal across the different releases as a "big switch".

There doesn't appear to be an open API for the settings. Either you're deciphering the reg format, or doing the lame "send keystrokes to Settings by TAB, TAB, space".
