Folder icons in Personal folder gone after latest update?

Windows Pro 11 23H2 Build 22631.3737
After installing the latest public Cumulative update, I noticed that the yellow folders in my User folder don't have icons in them anymore, no matter how large I make these folders.
The icons are still there in the right Details column though.

Right click them and select Properties >Change Icon, does that point to a valid icon, you may have a corrupted IconCache.

These blank specific folders don't have the option to show which icon they use. Resetting IconCache didn't help.

Do you notice the same thing when opening your personal folder?

Yes, I see the same thing, and I think that's a Windows 11 "feature," not a glitch.

The folders Favorites, Links, Saved Games, and Searches have changeable icons. Select the folder, right-click > Properties > Customize tab > Change icon. Browse and select the icon of your choice. I couldn't find the icons for those in Shell32.dll or imageres.dll, but they must be somewhere. Otherwise, you can choose any icon you want from those .dll files.
Just to make sure this worked, I changed the plain yellow folder for Favorites to the icon for Videos.

Oh but it never used to show the icons when in List or Details view.

What I meant is when the icons are shown as Normal icons as shown in my OP screenshot. In that case, holding the Ctrl key while scrolling with your mouse wheel would make the icons gradually bigger and eventually the icons inside should appear. This is not the case anymore after latest CU unless the folders icons are huge.

But if you use View in the toolbar and change to Medium icons, they're back. Medium's not so huge. Large and Extra Large are HUGE!

And when I select Links, hold Ctrl, and scroll up, the icon details show at the Small icons stage. I don't know whether that will hold, though.

Okay, I've found the icons you want to use in the Customize tab for Favorites, Links, Saved Games, and Searches, and those will show in all sizes. Just download the .zip, unzip it and copy each icon you want to a folder of your choice. Then use the Properties ... Customize trick, and you have it.

I have redirected all my folders and use custom icons.

I meant holding Ctrl + scrolling up while being in Medium view, which should make the inner icons appear eventually but it doesn't anymore after the CU. It only shows them when the folders are Extra Large, which is what I call huge.

Thanks for the icons link, I was just wondering why it didn't work anymore out of the box and whether someone else noticed the same.

Am I understanding it correctly that in your case, you can see the inner icons when the folders are set to Medium?
