So, I'm currently in build 22621.2283, I've used Macrium free multiple times even with this new HP laptop with 11 preinstalled, to try stuff and reimage in a new WD NVME I bought for it. Restoration and Backup features work perfectly and have no issues. You can use this software as much as you like and it will work with Windows 11 and 10, if you still are running it.

Just this, now, be happy peeps.

Cheers!

Let's hope it will keep working when the next Win11 update happens. Of course we have till the 2024 sunset date when they'll quit updating it.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
I'd risk it by saying it probably will, unless they radically change the file system, or how partitions are handled, or how the VSS service works... And feels unlikely tbh...

Nobody has ever suggested the free version does not work on Windows 11. Even the older V7 versions still work.

The only issue is if Windows ever brings out an update with a bug that causes MR not to work.

Well that's usually the answer, but dunno, I see all this posts panicking about an error or theorizing that much, that I just felt the need to tell people to be calm about this. Maybe there will be such an update, maybe not, why being anxious about it now? It works, no?

Just that...

I'm a little confused. I see when installing Macrium Reflect, there is only a "free download" but no free software. You basically start a trial. I presume after that's over, the software is disabled until you provide a key. Is that just for show? Is there some option to keep extending the trial, or does the software keep working? I never do anything sophisticated with backups. It's just a straightforward image. All for emergencies. I have been lucky in never having had to restore my system.
It does sound like Aomei is a suitable substitute. Hasleo is relatively new to the backup arena, but sounds like that has made some great improvements. Is Macrium still faster and more reliable?

Thanks. Nice to see they're still making it available despite not listing it as an option to download from their download page. 🍻

I was running an older version of 7. And they actually permitted me to get updated to version 8 while remaining on the free model. It also included an option for a VM installation boot. Sounds intriguing.
