Hi all,
I recently bought a new laptop: HP Victus Win 11 (22H2, 22621.1555) laptop, Nvidia Rtx 3060.
The laptop is connected to a Samsung TV (60hz refresh rate, 1920x1080) over Hdmi.
As a long-time PlayStation owner, I'm not very familiar with playing games on PC.
Recently I bought Cyberpunk 2077, which was on sale, from the Epic store and installed it while the external display was active.
The game works fine, except I couldn't get the desired FPS.
Today I wanted to check if I could get a higher FPS by using the laptop's own monitor (140+ Hz refresh rate).
Desktop right click > Display Settings > "Show only on 1": this disconnected from the external display (TV) and the laptop's own display got active.
But afterward, Cyberpunk 2077 wouldn't launch.
I was able to solve this issue by doing the following steps:
- chose "Extend these displays" from Display Settings
- launched the game, which started fine on the external display (Display #2)
- dragged the game's "Launcher" window to Display #1 (= the laptop's own monitor)
- chose "Show only on 1" so that Display #2 disconnected again.
After launching the game on the laptop's own monitor there was another problem: the mouse pointer was lagging a lot!
Also, I wasn't able to change the resolution, clicking on any setting didn't work at all.
How can I make Windows (and the game) automatically recognize which display is currently active and also fix the mouse lag issue?
Any help is appreciated.
