I purchased the Geekom Mini IT 11 the end of December 2023. (12/30/23)

I had started to set it up, but unfortunately, there were a lot of health issues that started popping up in my immediate family, along with a few deaths. Then I started having health issues that needed to be dealt with so I never got back around to turning my Geekom Mini IT 11 back on until this morning. The unit will turn on (the light comes on for the power button) and the fan will start but then the fan stops and after a short period of time it will briefly start and then stop again. The power light remains on, but nothing else happens and I eventually have to hit the power button to shut it off.

I shut the unit down properly the last time I even had any opportunity to turn it on and it worked fine at that time, but now I can not get it to work. I didn't even get a chance to do the update from Windows 11 version 21H2 (OS build 22000.2538) to Windows 11 23H2 yet. No updates were installed yet on that pc and I was just learning my way around the new operating system at that time when the #### hit the fan with all sorts of family health and a few deaths :(

The information on my pc is as follows
Product Name: Mini PC
Model : GM11i7T
CPU : INTEL CORE i7-11390H
DDR4 : SO-DIMM 32GB
SSD : M.S 1TB

Why won't my pc run / work and can someone please be so kind as to tell me or give me suggestions on how to fix this issue or have I gotten a complete piece of junk and wasted my money on this pc?

Thank You So Very Much

Does it show any lights or indicators when you power it on? If not, power supply is the first thing to verify. Otherwise, if you have access to another PC, you may want to try booting the device to bootable media to start attempting repairs. Please tell us more about your PC so we can help! And condolences/sympathies on your recent family troubles.

Since fans run and power light shows On, IMO it seems related to video. Things to try.
1. Turn off your monitor. Then turn it back on. Do you see a flash screen of the monitor which is usually the manufacturer name. If not, you have a monitor problem. Try another monitor.
2. If monitor tests good, check the settings on the monitor that the correct input, hdmi or DP, is selected. This is usually done with the tiny buttons on the side of the monitor.
3. Check your video cable connections on both ends.
4. Try another cable.
5.You have both DP and HDMI video out connections on that device. It is possible there is an issue with whichever video connection it is that you use. Try the other type connection. If your monitor does not have that type connection, you can buy adapter cables. (for example, if currently you are using hdmi from device to an hdmi port on your monitor, but the monitor has no DP connection, you can buy a DP to HDMI cable. )
6. If none of that fixes the issue, it would seem the Geekom has lost video. That device uses integrated graphics which reside on the CPU.
7. I've never tried one but there are external videp adapters available.

Sorry for the delay in replying - my Dell stopped working (I had the distinct feeling that it was about to die :crys:) Anyway, I have borrowed my neighbors laptop machine for a couple days since they are going away.

The power button on the Geekom Mini IT11 pc does light up when I turn it on.
It is a Geekom
Product Name: Mini PC
Model : GM11i7T
CPU : INTEL CORE i7-11390H
DDR4 : SO-DIMM 32GB
SSD : M.S 1TB
running - Windows Build/Version : version 21H2 (OS build 22000.2538)

I checked my connections and even unplugged everything and then carefully plugged everything back in and made sure all connections were secure.

I do not hear any beeps when the unit is turned on, I tried hitting F1 at first power on, repeatedly, to see if I could get into the BIOS in case it is a windows issue, but that did nothing either. I then tried booting into safe mode both with hitting the F4 button - still nothing and again with F5 and again still nothing.

The monitor works since I had my neighbor try it on their computer and on the Dell before it died and it isn't the monitor. I got a new cable for the monitor since the port for the Geekom is a HDMI port - just in case the one I had stopped working, but it still does nothing.

I did get a response from Geekom suggesting I take the RAM out and use an eraser on the contacts and then put them back in, but that did not resolve the issue either.

I have messaged Geekom back to let them know that their suggestion did not resolve the issue and I am currently waiting to hear back from them again.

I did hear back and they offered to replace it with another unit, after I return this current one to them. Waiting to hear back from them about where to ship it to and if there is anything else I need to do to ship it back. I still have the original box that it came in as well as the box that the unit was in, so at least I don't have to try and figure out how to safely and securely ship it back to them.
Thanks!

I bought a Geekom PC for one of my sons about two years ago. Sometime within the warranty it stopped working--would not turn on. It appeared to me that it was a faulty power switch, but I'm not sure. Geekom was very responsive about sending a replacement. Their customer service was fast and better than I'm used to. Hope your experience is the same. :-)

The symptoms you describe can be:

1) A stuck BIOS. If you can remove the lid, see if there is a "Clear CMOS" anywhere on the motherboard. Remove power cable, just in case, and then short the contacts for a few seconds using a Philips (in Greece we call it "cross") screwdriver. Alternatively, you can remove the BIOS battery for a few minutes to clear the BIOS settings. Put the battery back and try to switch it on.

2) A malfunctioning RAM module. If there are more than one, remove them all and try them one by one on the same slot to see if it will work. You should find the faulty one and replace it. If all work on the same slot, try one of them in all slots to determine if there is a faulty RAM slot.

3) Malfunctioning with the graphics. As already suggested, try switching the monitor input from the menu or try different cables. If connected with HDMI try the DP or vice versa. If you still don't get picture, try another monitor.

4) Some issue with the motherboard (most likely) or the CPU (rare). Usually it's not cost-effective to fix it, unless it is a rather expensive motherboard. In that case you could ask a professional to repair it, if possible, otherwise you must replace it.

Needless to say that if it still is covered under Warranty you better avoid opening the lid, or at least try to do it without marking the screws or scratching any surface. If there is a Warranty sticker, make sure you don't break it and remove it as carefully as possible so you can put it back and not void the Warranty.
