I have gforce gtx 1060(nvidia). Upgrades up to 25188 have worked. When I try to an upgrade to 25227 no luck. It hasn't worked for month. Please help. I guess I could go back to windows 10.

Where did you get those numbers from? Latest Nvidia driver as on the Nvidia site is 522.25, or from Device Manager 31.0.15.2225 use the number from system information in the Nvidia Control Panel rather than device manager its easier to match up with what Nvidia says.

The latest version of that is 522.30. No issues for me, but with a couple of 30X0 cards. I haven't seen any posts about issues with the 10X0 cards.

I have no idea where you got the version numbers in your first post.

Those numbers are MS Insider Dev build numbers.
I am using the same exact card as you on an Asus with the latest game driver version listed above on MS 25227.
You need to do a complete uninstall of your Nvidia driver, reboot, see what windows throws at you as a driver and then
try to upgrade from there.

Use DDU to completely remove the driver and any traces left behind. Then download and install latest official driver directly from nVidia. Don't trust Windows Update.

I got the iso file for windows 11. And burned a dvd. It looks like it is going to work, but when it gets to point when it is ready to install the only choice I have is to do a clean install. I did remoe nvidia experience. Didn't help. I am not ready for clean install at this point. If I it at this point I will go back to windows 10.

You are over complicating things, just install the latest driver from Nvidia as said by @spapakons above.

New driver available today from Nvidia.

Clean installation of the driver only, not of Windows 11. Select this option, it will uninstall the old driver before installing the new.

I try this driver 522.30. It installs OK. Then I try the update and it will not install.

What do you mean the update? If you already have a newer driver installed, the older cached Windows Update driver will fail. If you clean-up your disk and delete Windows Update cache, next time you search for new updates it won't be offered as you already have a newer driver installed. Install the latest nVidia graphics drivers and don't use Windows Update.

This may help...



DDU Instructions - Nvidia
1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
2. Get the DCH/Game Ready vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: Advanced Driver Search | NVIDIA ...save this to your desktop.
Unhook the internet completely.
3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the Nvidia driver to install.
[See pics below]. If it want's to reboot, let it.
Rehook the internet.

This seems to be getting all mixed up as in what is the OP trying to update?

If trying to update 522.30 there isn't an update for it yet, if you are trying to update Windows what build are you on? use Winver.

He probably installs the downloaded nVidia graphics drivers and then tries to install the Windows Update driver which of course fails as is older. Install only the downloaded driver. Clean-up the disk to delete the Windows Update cache and the graphics driver update should disappear as it is obsolete. Yesterday I updated my GTX 1050 Ti to the latest nVidia graphics drivers, everything is OK.
