I too have been using Microsoft since the beginning. I've used Windows 11 since it was introduced and for me it's been solid and the best Windows so far. I'm looking forward to 25H2.

Windows 11 has also been pretty stable for me the entire time. I think I've had two or three BSODs the entire time I've been using it. I'm looking forward to 25H2.

I kept my my insider computers on the Canary Builds thinking it would get the latest and greatest updates. As it turned out the Canary builds are the most boringest builds being released. Yes I know Boringest is not considered an actual word but it says it the best.

The analogy is a test screening for an upcoming movie blockbuster. If the audience scores suck, the movie studio orders a reshoot. Because the test audiences are very limited, less information about the movie's plot leaks out.

So that's why so many sucky movies get released.

I started with a Atari 800 XL then moved up to a Tandy 1000 RLX. As for the dot matrix printers, My wife use to get so angry with me every time she was anywhere near me when I was printing. I think that if my wife was a violent person that printer would have become an extra body part on me.

If I'm remembering correctly in the beginning it was an opt out feature until MS got a lot of negative feedback. Speaking for myself I don't mind MS adding features that not everyone wants, such as making new Window installs use a MS Account and using OneDrive as the default location of the User Folders. Theses things should be opt-in without a need to use workaround.

That also includes my Galaxy S22+ phone. I'm still P*ssed that MS decided to abandon them instead of promoting them better then what they did. If MS ever decided to come out with a Windows phone I would abandon my Samsung S22+ in a heart beat.

It was opt-out initially, yes. But again, it was a preview. No one knows what they would have done or not done along the way.

I can truthfully say that if I hadn't became a tester for Win 7 I might still be using Linux as my daily OS. Win 7 brought me back. Win 8 almost chased me back to Linux. With the release of Windows 8.1, I changed my mind and stayed with Windows. I'm not always happy with the changes MS makes with Windows but there's nothing that makes me want to go back to Linux.
