There is absolutely no benefit to making the destination bootable other than it will save you the few minutes to do the restore, but that comes with the risk of causing more problems than it solves if you don't know what you are doing by making two bootable drives with potential signature collisions.

There is a reason (in my opinion) why so few people do it that way and why I have never seen that as a recommended best practice for any backup schemes.

With the included USB-C to USC-C cable hooked up to the USB-C port on the back of your PC, you should be getting ~2000 MB/s so backups and cloning will still be fast, and you can use the offline cloning ability to create additional copies without eating up your PC's storage bandwidth again next.

Optionally, you could also consider to use your motherboard's RAID capability to set up a RAID 1, but remember that mirroring cannot be used as a replacement for backing stuff up. Mirroring is used to minimize the downtime if only one drive fails, in which case you can clone the drive that still works and replace the failed drive with the clone. Mirroring can also help to improve read speed (but not write speed).

Periodical cloning (used in conjunction with differential copying of personal files as frequently as needed, e.g. with FastCopy) gives the benefit of not needing to restore. The cloning process can be sped up by choosing not to use the "sector-by-sector" cloning method so unused sectors can conveniently be skipped with the type of imaging/cloning software that offers this choice.

With all this emphasis on speed, one thing seems to be forgotten. I'd prefer accuracy over speed. Truthfully, my scheduled Acronis TI backups run in the background at low priority, I don't really care how long they take as long as they're accurate. They don't affect my ability to use the computer, so I just keep working.

If I wanted to be able to boot from backups at all times, I wouldn't really care how long they take as long as they're both accurate and (near) instant. 🤣

Ghost Solution Suite ? I don't have such a thing! 😳 I have SyncBackPro for regular backups, and I intend to install Hasleo Backup Suite (free, suggested to me recently) and see what I can achieve. Best Free Windows Backup Software for PCs and Servers in 2025 - Hasleo Backup Suite

BTW I don't care about speed (my backups will run during the night). I care about wear and tear, AND being able to use the backup drive very quickly in case of main drive failure, to avoid a lot of stress on my side 😅 Which is why I'd prefer a bootable drive rather than an image that has to be copied afterwards.
