Can anyone tell me if my Gigabyte Z390 UD mainboard supports Hardware Virtualisation?
I need to have it enabled for Windows 11 Device Security/Memory Integrity.
I've looked everywhere in the Bios under the relevant CPU advanced settings, but it's not mentioned at all.
My Bios has no section for MIT, either.

Boot up any decent Linux Live distro -- no need to install anything and it won't damage or touch any Windows disks / installs

then from the console / terminal program type : lscpu

e.g from a current test Linux system

Sorry, but I don't see how that addresses my question.
All I need to do is turn on "Memory Integrity" in Win11 Device Security/Core Isolation, to give Memory security.
When I enable it, and reboot, it still is OFF.
It requires "Hardware Virtualisation" (which I assume is Mainboard Firmware).
But if my Gigabayte Z390 UD mainboard doesn't support it, then I'm chasing my tail.
Hence the question as to whether my Mainboard supports "Hardware Virtualisation".
Thanks for the response, tho.

Hi there
the program shows if the Mobo supports Hardware virtualisation.

That's the point of it.

I agree that the Gigabyte information is lacking any direct information on VT-x support - Z390 UD Manual download but it is extremely unlikley that a Motherboard of this vintage would not be supported; and/or that VT-x support is not enabled by default, especially as it claims to support Windows 11.

As an alternative to downloading a multi-gigabyte Linux Live distro, you could get the Intel Utility provideded here: Intel Processor Identification Utility which shou;d provide the required information (VT-x Support is supported via an acceptable combination of both Motherboard and CPU).

That's also good -- but Linux Live distros are not usually very large. The other advantage of the Linux Live distro is that it doesn't matter if the CPU is INTEL or AMD. If this particular MOBO has an INTEL CPU then I agree the Intel utility drrmd s reasonable way to go.

That version doesn't support my processor, suggests to use Legacy which I can't find anywhewre.

No problems with memory integrity on this gigabyte b365 with i5-8400

It has the same chipset>vt-d setting in bios as your z390 ud

edit

yes it is on page 35 of the manual chipset>vt-d

I've looked at every possible bios entry on my Z390 UD, can't see a Chipset section.
But under Adv. CPU, it doesn't show any VT-X support. There is a VT-D mention somewhere, tho.

The issue I'm having is when I enable Memory Integrity, it requires a reboot, then after reboot, it shows that Memory Integrity is still Disabled.

There was a suggestion of "incompatible Drivers", and I also found others having similar issues.
But not able to find which drivers are incompatible.

VT-D IS enabled in my BIOS, so it must be the Incompatible Driver issue stopping Memory Integrity from staying Enabled.
Any ideas what I can use to dind the suspect drivers?
Thanks again in advance for everyone's help so far :)

Problem sorted:
I found 2 driver entries (by using "AUTORUNS") which were redundant, so I deleted them.
Now I have Memory Integrity turned on.

If you want the MIT tab maybe try a more recent bios if there is one.
