To be totally honest I have tried to delete my original post because I messed up. But it seems that you can't delete a post once made so I was kinda hoping that nobody replied and I would get away with it.

Things were going well until a couple of guys replied so I have to now do the walk of shame and 'fess up...

There is nothing wrong with the licence, the issue was down to user error (me) being a prat. I activated the licence then tried to buy a licence that I already have. Don't ask me why I tried to do that as I haven't got a clue either. Simply put, don't do it, don't be me.

In summary
  • Does the licence work - YES
  • Am I a prat - YES
  • Are there any more bullet points - NO
Cheers chaps.

maybe I'm getting "Stingy" in my old age but 89 USD for the cloud version seems a high price to pay for a Home version. I find now in any case Macrium Free suits what I need just fine (I know there's all sorts of "incrementals / differentials etc" but there are other free ways to achieve that.

Backing up the OS with macrium just works, for the rest I have very little user data stored on Windows --it's all on a Linux NAS or on a Cloud server where for the NAS the standad tools (DD, rsync - or it's GUI Grsync, and Gparted ) work just fine.

But with all these things it's up to the user -- 22 USD seems OK but I don't think the extra stuff in the cloud version is worth an extra 60 USD though for Home users.

Cheers
jimbo
