Well I have pulled my hair out with Macruim Reflect on using it with backups to my NAS. Will not show any backups that I have mafe for a restore. I can use a internal drive for backups and retore from it fine. I can use Aomei and use a restrore from my Nas or a internal drive(3gig). I can look at the Nas and see files that were saved to it. I can copy any file from the Nas to an internal drive(Takes times because of the size of the file) and Macruim Reflect will then see it for a restore. For some stupid reason it just comes up empty on file to restore. I am using Macruim Reflect 8 paid version with windows 11. It just does not like me.

Have you run this by their technical support personnel?

These folk are pretty helpful.

I've also called them before and left a message... they call back fairly fast.

I have tried so many different things. I just don't get it. Aomie works fine with my NAS on writing to and reading from it. Macuim Reflect will write to ther NAs fine. Getting the restore file just does not work. When in Macruim Reflect it will see yhe files BUT when I try to do a resore it comes up blank. No files to restore. Microsoft file Explorer will show writen file by reflect. Both programs work fine on internal 3Tb hard drive.

Been battling with Macrium Reflect v8 (paid) on my NAS for months. I could use file copy both ways, other backup programs worked both ways. But had problems with Reflect not finding the file to restore. Yes it worked fine on a internal drive. I was about ready to dump the NAS or change in to multple drive storage units. I pulled all the drives and started over. The initialization for each drive took a long time. I now have a NAS that will work with me instead fo fighting me.(LOL)
So I have learned something new. Make sure you check everything 3 or4 times before giving up. (format and start again)

It is for the best.
I can't imagine how long it takes for you to read and write these images from NAS.
Just use a hard drive dock. It will be 10x faster or even more.

Hard drive dock is slower than my NAS. Another form of storage. The fastest I have seen for my system is internal storage.

so you are saying that your NAS speed is more than 1gbps when you are creating and restoring an image from it?
I usually get 1.7gbps speed when creating a backup to an external hard drive dock. If your NAS is faster than 1.7gbps, not sure how it is possible unless you have it connected to your PC via cable somehow.
Or you have a USB 2.0 dock maybe.

It is a USB 3.0 dock. It does not run at 1.7gbps best I get is 800 Mb/s drops down to 560Mb/s. It is plug in to the right USB port. My NAS is on my network. The way I see it anything is faster than my hand writing!

The main reason for the NAS is I have more then one computer on my network. 2-phones that upload pictures to the NAS. Usb dock does not work for the other deviices unless I disconect and move it.

A number of other computers, and now my last one.(I think)
The main reason for the NAS is I have more then one computer on my network. 2-phones that upload pictures to the NAS. Usb dock does not work for the other deviices unless I disconect and move it.
For pictures and other files, I understand. I also have a Qnap NAS myself. Also have 3 PCs and a laptop that stores and shares files to and from the NAS. But for backup images, I use the plug and play dock. My phone and tablets can also connect to the dock but I don't have to. I just upload the files directly to the NAS.The dock is really easy to plug from one PC to another.
But if you are okay with your system, then keep it that way. I was just wondering about the speeds.

Just had to see it for myself. Tried making a backup image to my NAS and the transfer rate is only around 150Mb/s.

Then on the same PC, I created an image via the hard drive dock and it clocked to 2Gb/s. From 1hr 5 minutes to only just under 5 minutes.
