Globe icon instead of ethernet or wifi icon in system tray issue

Failing ethernet card? Get a USB wifi dongle and test with that Bought 0one, will be here next week.

You could also create a Linux boot USB (Mint is a good flavour) and test the wifi connection with that.

What shows up in Device Manager for Network - when the wifi is working, and also when it is not? Plz be more specific.

EDIT
Any outstanding (driver) updates? (Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced Options > Optional Updates) Updated my network adapter, issue still here.

Which Lenovo notebook do you have? (full name) Lenovo idea pad 3.
It is better to have more info if possible.
Is it the same with cable as with wifi or just with cable? happens with cable and without. This is a known issue with laptops if you google it.
If just cable, try another cable CAT 6 or 7. Its cable and wifi, doubt it is cable.

thx for helping me guys. Appreciate it.

Bit hard to reply to specific aspects because of the unconventional way OP has used the reply option, but, let's try ....

"Looks more and more like Network card. Is coming next week"

Bit premature to be ordering a network card without other tests? Or do you mean a USB dongle rather than a "network card"? In any case, most laptops have a (non replaceable) network chip as part of the motherboard rather than a separate network "card"?

What actually is coming "next week" (description, make, model, brand)?

Okay. Now you need to verify whether the loss of connectivity is at the laptop(hardware) or further up the chain like the router itself or the ISP connection. Can you connect via wireless from the laptop? If so connect that way and see if you continue to lose connection. This may help eliminate the ethernet connection as a possible issue.

Usually a Wireless adapter is 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax. 2230 is the size of a 256GB or 512GB SSD.
