Globe icon instead of ethernet or wifi icon in system tray issue

Hi,

For some reason I lose connections to websites which shows "NO INTERNET" instead of the actual site. Attached is a picture of which to me looks like a "globe" instead of wifi connection or a wired connection in system tray. What causes that and how do I fix this issue plz?

The globe can indicate either no connection to the Wireless Router or no connection to the Internet from the Modem or Modem/Router device.

Yes, I know that but is there a way to fix it? That is the problem. It seems like this is a known issue as there are many topics on the net about it but no fixes.

Do you mean like this:

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Network Troubleshooter
Try that and see if this solves it.
BTW, I don't see any pictures.
Did you try to reset / restart the modem. Unplug from the wall socket, wait about 5 or more minutes and plug back in.
It might take a few minutes for the modem to get the connection back online. Check which lights are on now and wait
for all of them to come back on after the reset / restart.

I get that same picture whether my wifi is on or off. Sometimes i lose connection and sometimes i dont.

Failing ethernet card? Get a USB wifi dongle and test with that

You could also create a Linux boot USB (Mint is a good flavour) and test the wifi connection with that.

What shows up in Device Manager for Network - when the wifi is working, and also when it is not?

EDIT Any outstanding (driver) updates? (Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced Options > Optional Updates)

No-one is going to be able to give you a one-click fix for this sort of thing. You're going to have to do a little troubleshooting for yourself to get a solution.

Looks more and more like Network card.
Is the notebook still on warranty?
if not, can you replace it manually?

When it happens to me (and it does often since I live in rural area) it always no internet from the POE and its always an ISP problem.
Check your other network connected devices. Are they down at the same time?

Which Lenovo notebook do you have? (full name)
It is better to have more info if possible.
Is it the same with cable as with wifi or just with cable?
If just cable, try another cable CAT 6 or 7
