Google Drive app shows incorrect size

I've installed the Google Drive app on my Windows 11 home (OS build 22631.3880) system. File explorer shows 248 GB free of 476 GB. Going directly to my google drive via a web browser (Chrome) shows 314.17 GB of 2 TB used (1686 free). Why this discrepancy? Is this to be expected for some reason?

Don't use Cloud storage but could it be File Explorer is set to not show Hidden files/folders?

There are no hidden files/folders that I'm aware of. In any case shouldn't FE at least show the correct disc size (2TB)? Going to properties for the drive shows it thinks the disk capacity is only 476GB.

Don't know about Google Drive but Microsoft's OneDrive puts a folder in File Explorer and could be reading the wrong one. Also, the free Google I looked at on their site showed 15GB per user but they also a paid-for version.

I'd first check with Google to see if there's a problem on their end. Does File Explorer show any issue with capacity on other drives? If using an External USB drive or the internal drive/s there will be slightly less capacity than advertised due to formatting of a drive but probably not more than 10%. This is my NAS drive at 4TB total:

I have assigned my Google Drive a virtual drive letter and used/available space is exactly the same in explorer as it is if I go to Drive on the web.

Is that question for me or the OP? If me, I assigned drive letter Z to google drive. When I delete from drive letter Z in explorer, it goes to Google Drive trash folder. It automatically clears anything in trash after 30 days or I can manually empty trash online..

To anyone who has not used Google Drive, what I like about it over Onedrive is it allows me to sync any folder anywhere on my computer. No need for junction points. Though I have way more online Onedrive space (40gb all free) I don't sync anything to Onedrive. I use it only online and use it just enough to keep the account active so I don't lose any of the free space over the 5gb I get.
