Google Platform Experience Helper

The Logon tab in Autoruns has started showing an entry for Google Platform Experience Helper. I can't find out anyting about this. What's it for?

I use Google as a home page, search engine, and Google Drive mapped to my computer. I do not have that entry in autoruns. What I DO NOT use is Chrome. I'll bet it has something to do with Chrome. What is the image path shown in autoruns?

As you mentioned in PC specs, you are using Google Chrome. Google Platform Experience Helper is one of Chrome background processes which is safe to disable in Windows startup list.
I also disable some browser's scheduled tasks, but you have to know what you are doing.

Hi Steve.

Do you have this in Task Scheduler? I think PEH might mean Platform Experience Helper.

Last night, I booted up my laptop I only use for zoom calls. (I use brave + startpage search as defaults). Overnight, it went to sleep, so I restarted the laptop this morning. The screen stayed black for 3 minutes while "Google Platform Experience Helper" appeared on the screen (I can't remember if it said updating vs. installing). I never asked for it. I am actively trying to de-google myself, so this upsets me.

I do use todoist which has access to my google calendar. Unfortunately, todoist only supports google and outlook calendars. I want to disable this helper.
