Sometimes my 7900XTX will not turn on the morning after I shut down. The PC boots but the RGB on the GPU isn't lit and there's no signal out. I know it boots just fine because I can hear the windows jingle.

If I shut down and power down using the switch on the PSU this fixes the issue but I'm afraid this method might not work for long.

First thing to check is the power connections to your card. Are they secure?

I checked power and reseated. If that doesn't fix the issue I'll try a lower pci slot. If that doesn't work I'll start saving up for a new GPU. No I did not use the double ended single cable in case someone was going to ask.

I just got done replacing my 5950x because that died and it was a pain in the ass to come up with $380. Not looking forward to a $1000 or more issue.

Does playing games or doing anything graphic intensive cause the pc to shut off?

Since my last post it hasn't had any issues after reseating the GPU. No, it has not shut off during gaming sessions. I did have a random hard restart because of a CPU issue. I think it was core 2, but that was a one time thing. I wasnt even gaming. I had 3 chrome tabs up and one was streaming a movie.

Do a modern gpu benchmark like this one here and if your pc shuts off or restarts, congrats you have a bad power supply.

Besides the power supply, some poor quality power cable adapters are known to cause problems because of the high power draw.

I ran every benchmark there is. I stressed the GPU and CPU. Separately and together. I tortured the entire computer running at 100% on everything for an hour and it didn't have any issues. I have enough spare parts lying around to build another pc, except for the GPU, so I'm not too worried. I'm hoping I won't need to use them anytime soon. PC parts have gotten pretty pricey lately.
