Hello, I have weird graphical horizontal lines only on my taskbar icons, if I put my mouse over them they aren't there. If I take a screenshot it won't capture the lines at all. I already tried reinstalling my graphics drivers that didn't fix it and the problem even persisted with the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

Do you mean the small blue/gray lines under the icons? If so that's normal, they indicate that program is open, very small means it's in the background and the longer one is the program that has the focus, is covering any others that are open. Mine with 2 Browser and File Explorer open:

No no, the screenshot doesnt show it. But there is a graphcial glitch. I know what the grey stripe are but what I am talking about is genuinely a graphical error. It has to be a windows problem because if I hide the taskbar it disappears. I don't know how to fix it.

I've never seen the issue but I'd be checking Display Settings for the proper Resolution and Scaling. I'd follow that by using Device Manager to delete the Display Adapter and reboot to get fresh drivers installed.

I already said I did that already though. And that it didn't work.

Last thought I have is to try the monitor on a different computer, could be it has an issue. What type connection does it use? I have a 24" monitor on 4 computers through a KVM switch with 3 VGA connections and 1 DisplayPort with an adapter. I also have a 27" monitor with VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors which is the only reason I've kept it, use it when repairing computers, mostly Notebooks with broken screens.

You've managed to accomplish a diagnosing process to find an issue. Your choice now is to determine if it is bad enough to warrant a new monitor. I have been fortunate having big monitors given me, last 2 from widows of clients when cleaning house.

I've done some research, turns out others have the same issue with the model I have. Oh well...
