At this weeked, I went to a dear Scottish lady friend's 70 birthday - and all the old "wifeys" (Scottish term for older ladies) were hammering it with vodka, Irish Whiskey, Scotch Whiskey, Gin from 5pm to 2AM.

Forget Vikings, Eastern Europeans or Aussies, a Scottish "wifey" can outdrink any nation on Earth (and probably Mars as well). My head is only just recovering after 36 hours or so.
