Hard Drive Crisis.
The 4Tb mechanical disk where I have the backup copy has broken down. I have gone to the area where the computer stores were in Barcelona (Spain) that were always full of people and almost all of them have closed. I entered the one that was the best known and there was almost no one.
I ask about the prices of a disk between 8Tb and 16Tb and the saleswoman (Was it my turn?) makes a strange face and says that they are very large disks, which she doesn't have and if I want one I would have to ask for it and she says that she doesn't have it. because no one buys them because prices have increased and if it breaks, a lot of information is lost. It recommends SSD or M2 but it only has up to 2Tb. I tell him: And how do I make a copy of my information? And he does not know. In the end he recommends that I buy on Amazon or Aliexpress.
Amazon and Aliexpress have destroyed all the stores!!
But I can't buy on Amazon because you have to indicate the bank account (I think it's illegal). And I can't buy on Aliexpress because it is impossible to buy. Does anyone know how to buy it?
I was thinking about buying a mechanical disk but I'm tired of them failing and losing information and I'm thinking of buying an 8Tb SSD even though it's more expensive, but they only make 4Tb.
The same situation with processors. Prices have increased and now I3 and I5 are sold. I7 and I9 are luxury items. Nobody buys and almost everyone has an obsolete PC.
And on top of that, you don't have a section for me to comment on it and I have to say it here.
Out of curiosity, I entered Aliexpress and:
1.- They sell USBs of up to 256Tb for 15 euros. What does it consist on? Has anyone bought any?
2.- They sell 128Tb SSDs for 35 euros (here 4Tb 270 euros) but none of them have the manufacturer's name or serial number printed on them. Is it to make claims difficult? Has anyone bought any? Do they work and how do you buy them?
3.- Another strange fact is that on Aliexpress they sell external SSB (with the box) of 64Tb but internally they only sell up to 4Tb, why?
4.- Why aren't there stores that buy on AliExpress, acting as intermediaries, to facilitate the purchase for customers?
