Been using this Edge extension for years now - but lately (within the last 6-9 months) it has become a tad unruly. A month or two ago - I would fire it up and it would display as this nasty flashing box that you could not type in to. Now - since March 12 (exactly) this thing is completely dead.
A few days ago - hours after an Edge update - but before I discovered the mess this thing is now - I tried to login to the extension:

Click on the first option:

Enter my credentials (my MS "personal" account) and walk thru a couple of dialogs asking for MFA etc - and then this

And of course - cookies ARE enabled as are third party cookies.
And - once I reach this screen for the first time - that is the last time. If I click in the Extension again in the Edge toolbar - all I get from this point on - is this dialog - over and over and over:

There is nothing that can be done once I hit this loop - except destroy the Edge cache, uninstall the extension and start over.
So I figured something is up with just THIS machine. So I move to another. Same result. Move to a VM - same result. Then I try a different MS account - same result. Then I try an Office 365 account - the extension seems to be OK with this for a bit - but only for a few hours and then it too starts acting crazy. Extreme flashing on screen when accessing the extension and eventually no log i at all.
On my main machine (this one) I make the following "hard" cookie preferences to ensure every conceivable MS domain is considered safe and accessible for OneNote:

ALL to no avail.
Now - the ONLY change I did make - to this machine that is anyway related - ON March 12 - I "allowed" my MS account to register a passkey for login. I did this - WELL before discovering that this extension was acting up. Was even able to login USING the passkey at least 3-5 times prior to discovering this mess.
The passkey was successfully generated and stored with my Bitwarden vault. But after hitting this brick wall - I backed out of the passkey - deleted it from my MS account AND from Bitwarden and went back to using good ole passwords and Authenticator - and this is where I have landed.
No amount of clearing cache, reinstalling the extension or any of the usual tactics do anything. My MS account is operating as normal as always.
What is really bizarre is this bloody extension will not even allow a login in an InPrivate session - where one can usually bypass everything.
Whatever this is - I have found a few others now struck with the same thing while at the same time - thousands upon thousands seem to be using this thing just fine.
I am at a loss as to where to look next. Been a long time since I hit an issue where I am completely handcuffed - but this appears to be it.
If anyone has any ideas - I am all ears.
