I have just finished installing W11 PRO on my third machine, a clean install, and have been setting things up. The first 2 machines (listed) have had the "this PC" link added to the taskbar and desktop, but I cannot find it in the latest build. Has it been removed by Microsoft?
Getting "This PC" on the desktop is straightforward, but not as simple to place on the Taskbar.
For the desktop:
Click on Start > Settings > Personalization > Themes > Desktop Icon Settings. Check the box next to "Computer" and then click on "OK".
For the taskbar:
Take a look at the video linked to below. Note that the narration is not in English but if you simply follow what is being done on the screen, it's pretty easy to follow.

I have set File Explorer options to open to This PC and then pinned File Explorer to the taskbar. OK it has a File Explorer icon but it opens to This PC which is all I want.
I would not have ever thought of looking there, hsehestedt, it worked a treat, thanks. I have always found it in the "all apps" column, but not in this new build.

Yeah, it took me a while to find it. It was one of those "unresolved issues" I had in my list. Then, one day, I methodically went through every single option I could find in setup just to see what hidden gems I might be missing and I stumbled upon that.
Some things are just not where I would naturally look for them.

Creating the folder like that isn't allowing me to pin it to the taskbar. Even if I create a shortcut to the folder that I named "This PC.{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}", it's simply not working for me that way.
