Has Thunderbird changed how you transfer your profile?

No email problems, but I am looking to transfer my email credentials to another computer that I have.

I know the old way used to be dropping your profile folder under \AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\(your profile folder's name), but now I've heard it's "automated" and you now have to go through each and everyone of your email accounts and enter your username and password for each one. That Thunderbird will no longer recognize profile folder changes, even if you're logged in as an admin to do it.

Can somebody confirm when this happened?

Thanks

Huh? I dunno but I've always copied my profile and it worked. Now that has been a WHILE ago. You can do it anyway on the new machine while keeping the old one working. See what happens...

That's how I do it. I just move the whole profile to another disk, then make sure that the default path for the profile in profiles.ini point to my new location. When I go on the road with my laptop, I just copy my whole profile from my data drive onto the laptop, when I come back, I copy it back. That's worked for years.
