Hasleo Backup is actually 2 programs, the desktop program and the restore boot stick. in the past old versions of the boot sticks would restore a backup made with the latest Hasleo desktop. To restore with the bitlocker partitions in tact, does it only work with the latest boot stick?

Hasleo backup restore question. I just did a backup of a large storage drive (file image/backup...not system or disk). Hasleo broke up the image into three large ~2TB files. If I ever need to restore this image, do I do a restore (3) times...one for each file...or will I just select the first image file and Hasleo automatically moves to the second and third files when it's time. Maybe said a little more simply, is restoring the image of a large disk where multiple image files are created a single process, or several image restore processes.

...and that 2tB file limit is probably due to the fact that your target storage disk is FAT32 formatted rather than NTFS or exFAT (or you actually have a file size limitation set in the Hasleo options).

I confess, I've never had an image backup file that approached 2TB, so I've never run across that issue. My disk management style is a few partitions for dedicated uses, one for multi-media, video & audio, one for archives, applications, pictures, etc. I have, of course, the Windows boot drive, a data partition, and a work partition. I've used this scheme for many years, and I can individually backup partitions and have more reasonably sized backup files. My primary 2TB drive is broken up into those five partitions, then I have backup drives that receive the backups, they also go to the NAS, an air-gapped off-line disk, and a cloud service.

Being the impatient type lol, I deleted the old version and did a clean install of the Arm64 5.8.2 which worked and is backing up as we speak. However ver 5.8.2 ARM version would not allow me to create a boot menu entry which I'm not happy about. Seems to be some definite bugs in the ARM version.

Just did the update on my 64bit Win 11 and it went thru fine. Guessing that the issue is with ARM is probably right.

Yeah, it updated fine on my intel machine, only having issues with the little ARM machine.

I also re-downloaded the installer and all is well again also backing up as I write this.

Just reinstalled the ARM version again and now the Boot Menu can be created 👍🏾

Odd, my X64 version never had any issues and created the boot menu without problem. I guess you could always try unstalling and doing a clean reinstall course you'll have to reconfigure all your settings again.

A fresh install will not remove your settings, it will uninstall the old version (use the DEFAULTs into the same folder) and install the attempted version.
