Do you mind forwarding a suggestion to the Hasleo support team?

WinPE Downloader 2.4.2.0 desperately needs to be updated. They need to create a separate W11-based WPE.OCE (not shared with W10), which is a 24H2 version of WinPE. I realize the backup product has its own WinPE downloader, but the tool allows you to import from a saved WPE.OCE.

They should avoid having users import a W10 19041-based WPE.OCE, since that base WIM is way of date.

Greetings @garlin ! When I use their v2.4.2.0 of their offline PE Downloader (the one they call "the latest"), I get their OPE (OffLine PE) which is based on 10.0.26100 W11 24H2. I assume this is the version that you feel is necessary. I use that OPE file to build all required rescue media for any of their applications that I use (primarily Hasleo Backup Suite).

Their v2.0.2.0 version (called v2) delivers an OPE file which produces an image which is based on 10.0.19041 2019.

What is it I might be missing here

... any help greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly positive it's the 2.4.2.0 version.

All I can say is when I download their "latest" DOWNLOADER an run it, the build package I get is W11 24H2.

WPE.OPE has their own header packed in front of a WIM payload. We can strip off those bytes using HxD hex editor, and convert it back to a boot.wim.

No. They're serving a W10 (x86) WinPE since their downloader says "W10 + 11".

Within Hasleo backup, it has an internal downloader which doesn't use this app. But this app is still featured, and in May 2026 someone updated the support article for it. Therefore it's intended for public use and most non-technical users don't know how to check its validity.

@KevTech The FAQ suggests that the Offline be used (one download) vs downloading of the MS version every time you do a build. If the Offline works for then keep using unit it does not. If you do not care if it take an extra minute or two for the MS version then choose that. The best version is the one obtained from the Recovery Drive on your PC.

The Offline version did not work from the start with one of my PC's that needs all sorts of drivers to be included, so I just use the RE version, no download required.

But it seems you do not have to download every time.

I selected Microsoft and build rescue media.

I then selected to delete and rebuild the iso and no prompt to download from microsoft again.

I think once you download the files are on your PC.

But I just use WinRE version as the PE I was just testing the build process.

WinRE you do not get SVN error if 2011 is revoked.

Going back to Macrium now for a while to iron out some of their rescue media bugs.

@garlin, where did you get that downloader?

When I go to the LINK I mentioned above and ask for the "latest" version of the downloader... I get v2.4.2.0. When I run it I get an OPE file. I then use Hasleo Backup Suite, using the dowload option then using the use off-line option (specifying the local OPE just received), the app then builds an ISO using the local OPE for use as a Rescue Media. If I then extract the boot.WIM from that built ISO and run the following command, it tells me that the PE is based on Win11 24H2. And sure enough, when the WIM or ISO is run, it starts as a WInPE 11 element. I don't know how else to explain it.

dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:<TEMP folder location>\boot.wim /index:1

That's why I'm wondering where your downloader came from. The above was all done on a Win10 ENT System. I guess I'm confused...

How to get offline WinPE package for all Hasleo Products?

I provided the hash for the untouched WPE.OPE as downloaded by 2.42.0. The screenshot from the app is 2.4, the program's own ini file says 2.4.2.0 and the log file says 2.4.2.0. The raw WPE.OPE file is padded with extra bytes as a header.

If you're using the backup app's own downloader, why does Hasleo bother keeping this tool around? It makes no sense to provide a different image at the same time of maintaining an offline downloader. Now if you said the offline downloader was deprecated, and shouldn't be used any more...

But why would they update the article on May 20? I ran the tool on W11 25H2.

As I mentioned before, because the tool only gives the option for "W10 + W11", it means it can't provide you with a W10-era source image.
