I'm setting up a new laptop and noticed in the Power Options that the hard drive power off settings are set to one minute. Should I change the setting for when the laptop is plugged in? I'm thinking of setting it to Never.

It does not stick to Never for a while now but reverts to 0 which is the same.

I would. It causes more wear and tear on the HDD to power off and back on then it does to just keep spinning.

    Fast!
Thanks! I changed the setting to never. I wonder why the default for when plugged in was set to one minute.

Edit. The laptop has a SSD. Even if it did have a HDD I think that one minutes is unnecessary.
