Solved Headphones connection...

Does anyone else have trouble connecting Bluetooth headphones? Is there a systematic flaw in Windows 11 on a desktop? Bose & JBL headphones work at 1st then “SNAFU!” Tech support says we’ll mail a replacement. Can a fix be advised by someone? Thank you in advance!

Windows 11 has zero issues with BT headphone. Suggest you check your Bluetooth device and or drivers.

And both my Bose NC 700 phones and JBL Flip 4 speakers work just fine under Windows 11.

Thanks! Do you use the headphones often? I haven't but in the near future I plan to. Maybe lack of use is a possible cause?

I use a pair of Sony WH1000-XM4's with my Windows 11 laptop for work on a daily basis. I work from home and do everything on this headset. I haven't encountered any problems with them under Windows 11.

I have to disagree with that. I have always had intermittent problems trying to use Bluetooth headphones and/or mice on my computers. One time they'll work OK then the next time they won't . I now use a Bluetooth transmitter - receiver that plugs into the headphone jack. I now have no more problems using using my Bluetooth headphones plus I can use them when I walk my dogs in the field across the street. I use them all the time with my laptop when out and about. Same with my BT speakers when on the road. Zero connectivity issues.

That should not be the case. It certainly isn't with me with regards to my JBL speakers which I only use every once in a blue moon

Also, and I have to ask / mention it... are the batteries fully charged on the devices? Or better yet, holding a charge?

I guess we all have different experiences. My headset has always worked good, and I've used it on Windows 10/11 as well as various computers (Dell laptops, Mac laptops).

I recently purchased a Logitech K380 bluetooth keyboard (multiple device support), from Amazon for $25. I got it to use with my Mac Mini. I loved it so much, I actually paired it to my work laptop and now use this keyboard as my everyday keyboard on my work laptop.

I have read that thread. Read my post #20 about Bluetooth mice. You're probably thinking that something near my computer is causing interference. My Bluetooth transmitter - receiver is right next to my computer and works every time. In fact it's behind my computer. The only time I have to worry is if there is a power loss. I have to make sure that the only Bluetooth speakers/headphones that are turned on are the two I want connected. It will pair to the first two devices it finds. I've had it connect to my son's Bluetooth speaker a couple of times. I do have one minor problem that was caused by a driver update to my Realtek sound card but it has nothing to do with Bluetooth. If the device is connected to the headphone jack I have to manually connect to my speakers every time I start my computer. It no longer automatically switches the output source. I know how Windows and Bluetooth work on my computers and I'm sure I'm not the only one. And yes we can agree that we do disagree about Bluetooth and Windows. I do hope that we don't need to smoke a peace pipe. I'm not angry with you and I hope your not angry with me. We just have different experiences when it comes to using Bluetooth on our computers.

I'm saying "Windows 11" has no issue with Bluetooth. It's always the Bluetooth device itself (driver or hardware fault).

Windows 11 itself has no issues with Bluetooth. Even your issues posted turned out to be hardware. That's my point

I heard the same claim in this post, and it turned out the OP never even had a Bluetooth card/dongle installed - Lack of Bluetooth

And so, yes, we can agree to disagree agreeably

I have a question. Does Bluetooth pair after a startup or do you have to do it
all over again? I don't use BT so I don't know.

with my headphones I pair them to my computer once and then they are setup and ready to go until I remove them from bluetooth devices.

After I boot up my computer, i do NOT have to do anything. I simply turn on my headphones and as soon as I do, they connect to my computer.

Well , that was easy. Thank you. I know my grandkids use BT with their iPads but, never bothered to look into it.

My laptop never had an issue with Bluetooth Headphones or Soundbar using the default settings. However, both sounded better when used with my Android phone. So I downloaded Realtech software to enhance the sound when using the Laptop(the Lenovo one in my specs.) Once I got it working the Soundbar and Headphones as well as the onboard speakers sounded better. Only thing is at times I may have to disconnect/connect and mess with them for 10 or more minutes to get any sound through the Bluetooth paired output.

Very frustrating when the choice is "error free" crappy sound or enhanced sound that I have to coax for an unknown span of time.

Once you pair a BT device it stays "paired" until you disconnect/remove it. However, it does not work until Windows is started. And restarting/shutting down Windows does not un-pair a device.

Anyway, the only BT devices I use on my desktop is headphones (sometimes) and my Android phone. My Logitech KB, and mouse it also BT capable, but I use USB instead since it also works in the BIOS (unlike BT).

If I understand you correctly, every Bluetooth device I tried using in Windows 10 and 11 was at fault? I doubt that very much. I put it in the same category as Wi-Fi networking. For some it works without any problems and for others it doesn't.

I said what I said and stand by it as explained.

And the fact that "Windows" acts up at times doesn't mean everything is a "Windows issue". Sometimes Windows acts up due to causes beyond its control. Here Windows is simply the "messenger"

Also, while nothing is 100 percent absolute, 99.99 percent of BT issues are "not" Windows itself, but improper settings; missing / lack of supporting hardware (BT dongle/card), or BT device driver issues. But instead, Windows, like the "messenger" gets blamed for simply alerting you of an issue.

And again, your own posts (#5 & #9) prove my point.

Only one disadvantage - only supported in bluetooth mode is cd quality (2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz). But I don't care.
Maybe Bose or JBL doesn't have this, check and report back.

You haven't said exactly what you mean by 'snafu'.

My Bose QC45 Bluetooth headphones work fine with my Windows 11 desktop computer.
Occasionally the audio volume will go up or down on its own so to speak, after doing some voice inputs or listening to Spotify. But it pairs, connects and works well for what I use it for.

Thanks for everyone's help! My headphones now are working. Some lessons learned, Charge the headphones, The Bluetooth searching for devices must be simultaneous with the BT activation on the headphones by the BT button or switch.
