I'm trying to use a headset microphone for the first time since 'upgrading' to Windows 11. Both the headphones and the microphone are recognized and work fine according to Windows, but there's no sound being captured. I've tested this in Discord, Chrome, and Windows sound settings. The microphone volume is set to 100% and I've even turned up the microphone boost to 30 dB in case it was just being quiet, to no avail. So far I've tried:
  • Both rear and front jacks with and without a splitter
  • Two different headsets with two different microphones and cables
  • Reinstalling Realtek audio drivers
  • Several computer restarts before and after reinstalling drivers

Probably by default Windows use the onboard microphone. You must change the default microphone to the headset.
