They'll last forever, they're quiter than the CM fan(s), and the bearings are completely waterproof and dust proof.

I ordered the faster rpm model. It costs the same.


This way if I "need" more cooling... I don't have to get an even faster fan.
I can run this at 83%, rather than 100%

Nice! I changed mine as well. I'll get another one hopefully in a week or two. I hope just one will keep it cool for the mean time. (Am I going to need 2 sets of those plastic brackets)? I only have 1 set

You'll need one set of two for each fan.
Try it with one fan... see how it goes. These fans can ramp up to jet engine speed.
If the noise is bearable at 3000rpm, then you may only need one fan.

I'm betting that 2500rpm (83% fan speed), will do the trick. That will only be as loud as the 212 EVO fan, but will move more air with a better static pressure.

People have been arguing for years as to whether one fan per set of fins... is better that a push/pull arrangement or not.
So see how one fan works for you, if you decide on going push/pull you can always add another.

The original Hyper 212 EVO came with two sets of two plastic fan brackets.
Either the version 2 doesn't, or you lost one set.
Remember that one set is already ON the 212 EVO, so there will only be one other set in the box.

The Hyper 212 that I have was given to me a few weeks ago with just one set. I could order another set possibly, if Amazon has them

I'm not certain, but I believe that it's a kit that includes additional fan mounting clips for the 212 Evo. $10US.

It'd be worth checking with CM for compatibility. Or, they may be able to provide just the clips at a lower cost.

I think that going to 2 fans may be a waste. "JAM83" seems set on it, even though finances are tight.

But, you can attach and detach the fans while the heat sink is already installed.

That sounds easy enough. I got the Kryonaut Thermal Paste in the mail today. . So, i'll wait til I get the Noctua Fan in (Friday), before changing out Fans. (Too bad a tight rubber band wouldn't hold the fans in place until I am able to get more clips) lol

It probably would. BUT... if the rubber band snaps, that fan will go flying around and could do some damage.
Not only that, but it's easy to bend those aluminum fins.

Here... drink some of this... :-)
