Help me with this annoying issue, Please!

I run a machine with the following specs --

9800X3D
RTX 5080 FE
Windows 11 Pro
Version 24H2
OS build 26100.3775
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.66.0

Random gray boxes appear on certain apps such as Adobe After Effects, Stremio, Corsair iCUE to name a few, I have attached images for reference. Attaching an ImgBB link as well.


I have tried updating my GPU drivers, rolled back and all that, but these boxes persist.
I am convinced that this isn't a display/GPU problem because I had a 3070 FE up until the first week of April and the boxes were present in that build as well.

I am at my wits end and I don't know how to solve this, please help!

Try running sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt. Press WIN key plus S, type cmd and then select Run as Adminstrator.

That's not good enough. You need to list everything you have tried in detail so that helpers do not waste their time suggesting things you have already tried. Good luck.

OK, so far I've done scannow, installed GPU drivers, new and rolled back, updated my chipset drivers, don't have fast boot on, changed cables (HDMI to DP and vice versa), saw if changing light mode to dark mode would do anything, nothing so far.

Thing is, it returns to normal on its own, and then it randomly reappears. That's my issue.

It seems like a feature gone wrong. My first guess would be GPU settings, try to close all GPU related services, processes.
Then try to close all background processes. It could be also caused by AV, but it looks more like hardware acceleration.
Another option would be an app trying to insert ads or just a simple malware, probably a leftover script running wild.

Can you switch to the integrated graphics by disabling your video card and see what happens?

Uninstall iCue for a bit.

A semi-random suggestion:

Run Display Driver Uninstaller. I was having some light gray boxes appearing in a Web browser. Running DDU and then installing the nVidia drivers afresh fixed that.

It's recommended to run DDU in Safe mode, but I've done it in regular Windows.
