Ships From Amazon

Sold By Amazon

This means it’s guaranteed by Amazon to be what you bought.

If instead, you see something like:

Ships from Amazon

Sold by UBFEM-US

FREE 30 day refund/replacement

You should still be OK

Finally, if you see something like this:

Ships from mleco innovations

Sold by mleco innovations (name changed)

It’s probably from “overseas” and quite suspicious in my book.

In fact, I learned my lesson trying to buy a Samsung refurbished cell phone.

It was delayed and delayed at least six times, so I cancelled and wasn’t charged, thank goodness!

So, if it were me, I would go back to Amazon and check to be sure the drive is marked as shipped from and sold by Amazon!

That is if it was bought from Amazon . . .

Sold by "some strange name", it's probably the same as the last example I gave.

Why not check the drive temperature when it is actually doing something? Like playing the game(s) that crashes it. If that shows nothing amiss, try testing with Hard Disk Sentinel Download Hard Disk Sentinel (tests SSDs also).

I had a number of nvme external enclosures attached to my desktop via USB but they started randomly disconnecting over the course of the past month under heavy transfer. Cables, ports, enclosures, drives all swapped with all permutations. In the end, I changed my driver from the Intel 300 SATA driver to the native Standard one and the disconnects so far have stopped. Something to try if you ever need to. Cheers

That's SATA, not NVMe.

Zero wrong with Samsung drives; zero heating issues other than what the naysayers opine. If you care to do your homework outside eleven forums, you'll find Samsung drives are highly rated. And that it's nothing for an NVMe drive to hit 50 - 60.

So, again.... the temps (44 C) shown in your post here are well within limits standard operating limits (up to 70 to 90 C).

In July, I installed my 990 Pro with-heatsink-version. 1 TB. I got it inside Walmart in Claremont, NH. The printed manufacturing year, is 2024. Magician showed no firmware updates needed and showed 100 percent life.

Not all M.2 slots support NVMe -some older devices may support M.2 SATA only.
