HELP please .. my newly bought SSD M.2 SAMSUNG 990 PRO keeps disconnecting with no reason or faliures

@BrianInEngland your 990 SSD says in your specs is a
2TB one.

I have a 4TB 990 PRO and so does the poster @samurai_X ..
there may be a firmware level bug not sure .. but seems likely.

I'll never see 109 on HWInfo because by then the SSD will be nothing but dust I would imagine

I have been using a 980 Pro on a PCIe card since I bought it, around early 2021, it's been flawless, even in the "Full Performance" mode.

kinda yes .. i can accesss it and see everything inside
its not disappearing from " MY computer " page
BUT icant do anything as i said .. no gaming .. no file moving .. no copying or pasting from it or to it
its like sitting there in total uselessness

and powering of and wait 5 minutes works only 25% of times
sometimes the problem happens fast once i try any kind of heavy game that has some space in the SSD like Call of Duty
sometimes it gives me clean 2-3 matches no problem and sometimes not
after those done games whole game freezes .. have to close it ..
trying to verify game files .. nothing .. i keep getting errors being unable to read/write from the SSD

so the whole mess is a big random mess

and yes i swapped those 990 SSDS worked for day or two then problem came again

all my other SSDs and HDDs in my pc are working with no problem

A random observation... if these drives run that hot, seems to me Samsung is not all it's cracked up to be. I was blown aways by some of the different issues I came across on the web about Samsung drives. Yet what do these disgruntled die-hard Samsung owners do, they buy another Samsung drive. Go figure.

I've never had any problems with Samsung drives, all three of my M2 drives are Samsung, and the SSD and the external SSD T7

Again, is is possible to swap drives? This will tell you if it's the drive or board/OS. Once you know that you can move from there.

Reply to observation. All NVMe drives get hot, not just Samsung. I mention heat because like all thing over heating can cause issues. Just trying to eliminate possibilities.

Anyway, looking at the OP's shown temps, they aren't the issue.

In my practice, it's a sign of NVME SSD dying off after 3-4 yrs use. in my case, I replaced them. and labelled them "low-quality" SSD.

Samsung should be a brand name. and shouldn't see such bad sign.

i was a faithful owner of samsung drives all around .. after this unresolved issue .. guess ill not continue with them although they top the charts when it comes to speed read/write/longevity of thier drives

thats huge my friend ..
so they already know thier faliures .. i need to find a better HQ replacment for those SSDs

If you listen to the naysayers you'll never use anything but parts they only approve of.

Zero wrong with Samsung drives; zero heating issues other than what the naysayers opine. If you care to do your homework outside eleven forums, you'll find Samsung drives are highly rated. And that it's nothing for an NVMe drive to hit 50 - 60.

So, again.... the temps (44 C) shown in your post here are well within limits standard operating limits (up to 70 to 90 C).

Welp i already said that i was a loyal 100% fan of samsung .. i have all my other drives from them .. did u read that part ?? Its just weird that my last 2 .. the 990 pros bought from june and the other from november causing all this trouble to me .. i Still have my 980 and my SSD sata evo in my case … just wondering if there is a better more stable new none Gen5 SSDs .. i am guessing WD580x could be the choice
