Help using RDP

Just not syncing Downloads and Desktop.
So practical.

It’s perfectly fine, IF not doing it causing so much grief that the easiest answer would be to consolidate your computers. There are mitigating circumstances here. But yeah, all mine use the same Microsoft Account, which is what I was saying. “Hell yeah”

If RDP is giving issues, have you tried Anydesk or Quick Assist?

If RDP is mandatory:
He can log into the PCs with pin and either
1) enable the Administrator and set a password for it
2) create a new Admin profile for remote connection purposes

How much of what you’re attempting to do on his PCs can you divulge? May be able to achieve the tasks via logging into them with one of the aforementioned methods and making registry tweaks from there, etc.

Quick Assist only works with/through MS Accounts. OP stated only local accounts used hence will not work.

signing into the app to use it (Quick Assist) has no bearing on whether the user account on the PC is a Microsoft or Local account.... based on that logic, you cannot use the Store without converting your Local account to a Microsoft account... ludicrous

You don't need action on the other end to allow joining of a computer with chrome remote desktop. You can set it up so that you can remote in with just a pin or password (or none just sign in with google account), no confirmation needed on the other end. I do it all the time.

I haven't used TV in many years. I did love it because at the time it was the best there was and probably still is. After it got out of my price range to buy, the free version had too many limitations on up time used and how many different devices I had connected to in a certain timeframe. Is that no longer the case?

I've never used it but I will look into it. Thanks. It still will not overcome lack of providing a magic packet to wake from sleep though, at least from what I read.

To everyone who has helped me, I have given the user all his options and it's up to him on how he wants me to handle this. He seems to think he can work with the wake from sleep issue so we will see.
