The slimmed install autounattend.xml I made for 24h2 still works the same for 25h2. Just used it today

i delete most Windows programs and apps because i don't use them
i have a set of programs and apps that are mainly open source
some of these programs are old but they are still functional for my usage.

i also disable as much telemetry as possible and lock the system down as much as i can
and disable as many services as i am able that i don't use.

but that's just me. best of luck Steve ..

Of course not!! But it's a topic that's gained more traction in the past two years, due to what's happened to Pro editions. The "in" crowd's going to tell you to install LTSC, and avoid talking about they didn't legally acquire a license.

My point is LTSC serves as a baseline for comparing how far you can debloat normal Windows in a safe manner (removing apps, and disabling services). I've seen a trend in the debloating community where disabling services is considered a better long-term deal that just removing features outright.

wont work. its protected, just like the Backup app. you have to boot into WinRE and use dism to remove the packages

There's actually two "Get Started" apps:

W10-era "Get Started" is now known as "Get Help", and is a removable package.

W11 "Get Started" is embedded inside Client.CBS, and isn't removable. Unless you enjoy removing Client.CBS.

Question is whether any of the debloat really makes it run any faster?????? In my experience, it's often quite minor, and in some cases once you turn enough stuff off, i've seen bootup times measured with a stopwatch actually get slower...almost like it waits for a response from a service and has a timeout that it has to wait for since i may have shut off the service.

How can I debloat win11?
