Solved How can I find out what triggers a completely white application window that is displayed during every Windows startup?

Since a little while every single time when I start Windows 11 a completely white application window appears and then disappears again after roughly 10 seconds. It doesn't even have a title bar. It's just a completely white square. Sometimes when I mouse over this white window a tool tip displays, but confusingly not always with the same text. One time it read "PDFgear", but then another time it read "Discord". Both of these applications are also not in the list of startup-apps in Windows Settings.

Does anyone here good suggestions for how I could investigate what exactly is triggering this white window in the first place? (because I'd like to get rid of it)

Uninstall both PDFgear and Discord,then shutdown and restart.
Is the problem still there?

Process Explorer is a tool that can show you which process has opened a given window or file. It's available for free download from the Microsoft website.

I've had occasions when a mysterious window would appear. I was able to use Process Explorer to find out which program opened it.

After completely uninstalling PDFgear and Discord the issue still persists.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have downloaded Process Explorer and used its Find Window's Process (drag over window) function on the mystery white window.

Process Explorer then indicates that the window's process is Microsoft's explorer.exe.

I'm not sure what to make of this though and what next step I should take.

If you decide to use Chrome again, then disable the task in Task Scheduler. Don't delete it because it will come back again in a later update. It's better to leave it in there "disabled" rather than have the next update re-create it again and leave it active.

Also check anything in services.msc that has any relation to Google Chrome and either disable the service in there, or set it from Automatic to Manual depending up what you want running in the background, or what you don't.

The symptom seemed to be similar, but not the cause (I have no LG monitor).

I forgot to say make sure you open services.msc as an administrator. It gives you more control.

A weird blank empty white box appears briefly after boot-up

(Ignore the classic Windows 10-era wallpaper; I like it.) This began just recently, and I don't know what it is. no program appears on the bar and it's not interactable; it appears for about 10 seconds and vanishes after I've run SFC, and nothing has been found
