Thank you BRINK for your many years helping the Windows Crowd.

This Old Mans Thoughts at 75 years young.

To start I have been building my own desktops from early 1990's.

It all started as more of a curiosity on how computers worked and I was intrigued at what they did.

Now, this has never been related to my careers and just a hobby and never liked what companies offered for a desktop PC.

OK, yes I'm very old and have wondered and pondered over decades why everyone has major computer crashes.

Hardware usually are 100% reliable after using the 1st few days no matter what you have, CPU, fans, memory modules, video cards, etc.

I do know some companies have crappy drivers for their hardware but most of the time now that isn’t the case.

This leads me to believe that it's Operator Error (OE) as then install software and no understand the total concept in answering a few questions on the install being incorrect.

Being a MS Windows guy from it's Original conception I tend to believe most Window fresh installs have regular owners in mind that have no idea about anything related to the

install is except it takes a long time in their minds and hope that the ON button will solve all their problems instantly.

But, many seem to find those BLUE SCREENS of DEATH.

I always wonder to myself are these folks just trying beyond their capabilities or skill to install a automatic install?

Is their hardware that old that it's too slow to process data?

Have they ever opened up their case to see if the dust bunnies are taking over and jumping around and shorting the MB pin selection board?

I guess I will have to continue to wonder as it seems each new year brings the same issues to light.

Yes we are ALL here to help these misguided/lost soles and give them purpose by giving them a helping hand in hopes for a better computer life.

OK! LOL
That's enough rambling so let's get out there and continue to support and help all those heads of mush.
Have a great day!

I only had problems with one computer. It was a Lenovo laptop that didn't like me and I couldn't convince myself to like it! All was good in the end...it just quit working :zany:

Hi folks I am a 60 yr old PC builder and proficient gamer since the days of Windows 95. Some people call me a dinosaur. Ha! I have found in my experience of working with old school systems and right up to today's technology that problems still arise and people sometimes are at a loss to find a solution to the issues at hand with their PC. At present I offer consulting and troubleshooting diagnostics on modern PC's for both Gamers and businesses. Today I am using a 12 yr old rig for daily computing purposes and gaming. It runs very well for its age. It has Windows 11 24H2 Home Edition ( with CPU TPM bypassed of course) installed as the CPU an FX 9370 4.7 GHz has the SSE 4.2 Instruction set required by Windows 11 24H2. It runs most midrange games with no issues at 1080P resolution at high settings. It has a Gigabyte Motherboard 990FXA UD5, 32 GB of 1600MHz RAM A WD Blue 1TB SSD for Windows and a Seagate hybrid 2 TB HDD for games and programs. Aftermarket liquid cooling. GPU is a GTX EVGA 1050TI 4 GB VRAM. The PC is set to Auto overclocking so no overheating issues. Benchmarks are well within the expected range for a PC this old. (2013). The SSD and HDD are matched for performing at the same speed performance of 650 MB/second. Data transfers are very fast. A Seasonic 1050 Watt PSU and Bluray writer DVD ROM drive. I have had very few operational issues with this PC as I took the time to configure it for the games I will be playing. Example American Truck Simulator I have been playing it since its release in 2016. I bought this PC for $200 CA. A PC like this today would cost with upgraded GPU RAM etc around $3500.00 CA. Anyone asks me for help I will do my best with my dinosaur brain to help them reach a solution that will work for their PC issues. Cheers

High End Old school system I picked up this year for $200.00 CA. It plays most average games without overclocking. Also some AAA Titles with the System optimized. Most time I run the GPU undervolted and reduced clock speeds and the Cpu at a reduced speed to keep gaming temps down. My average FPS are Between 60 and 85. Temps CPU 35 and GPU 40. Normal gaming settings CPU is Around 45 degrees C and the GPU is around 50 degrees C. FPS up to 85. V-sync turned Off. Games played are American Truck Simulator Plague Innocence and Plague Requiem Horizon Zero Dawn Balders Gate 3 DreamFall Chapters Final Cut. No gaming issues.
