There is a huge difference between a product that doesn’t need an OS and isn’t upgraded and still works, to a product that relies on a OS that is set for obsoletion.
Having said that. Australia went digital. People weren’t happy.
I have no idea what they do where you’re from. The only thing you can do with a TUBE TV these days (here) is watch a video.
Personally, I’d remove the guts and place a Nativity Scene in the tube using Barbi & Ken.

There is a huge difference between a product that doesn’t need an OS and isn’t upgraded and still works, to a product that relies on a OS that is set for obsoletion.
Having said that. Australia went digital. People weren’t happy.
I have no idea what they do where you’re from. The only thing you can do with a TUBE TV these days (here) is watch a video.
Personally, I’d remove the guts and place a Nativity Scene in the tube using Barbi & Ken.

I don't think you're understanding what I mean. MS wants to move forward and abandon old tech and people get all upset. They say things like this is wrong, the government should step in and stop it, this is bad for the environment and so on and so on. Where was the complaining when we were forced to go with digital TV signals instead of analog TV signal. Did people think twice when they decided to threw out their old but still working tube TVs so they could replace it with that new flat screen TV? I think throwing those old tube TVs out is worse for the environment than old computers.

Actually in the US, households could get two (I believe) coupons for free digital-to-analog converters, if they couldn't afford them, so their old TVs would still work. If purchased, they were around $40. Roughly the same cost as a year of ESU for Windows 10.

I only knew one family that used one. I didn't get to see it in action, because they hadn't paid their cable bill due to the onset of dementia.

Electric motor or foot pedal powered? I use to have my grandmother's foot pedal powered sewing machine. Unfortunately the place where we had it stored was too humid and it got ruined.

The box from the cable company was different. As I remember the free converters was for over the air signal.

I have a foot pedal Singer desk machine but it’s in storage. The one below (Hand driven) is set for a beautification by a restorator in the coming months.
The gold and metal work will be restored. The lid needs some work (I can do) and the lock needs to be fixed.

Now that you mention it, that's right. Although there were some ATSC tunable signals on my Comcast cable in late 2007.

I don't know whether the cable company charged for the converter. I never owned one.
