How many of you are running as Admin account on your personal computer?

You must not have family or friends come by. I wouldn't let any of them use an Admin account.

I do........ but i don't let them use my computers or my internet connection.

User account with admin privileges.
No-one touches my pc, no-one.

I use a single Microsoft Account–backed administrator account on all my personal machines. Both of my Windows 11 Pro systems are fully signed in to my Microsoft Account, which is passwordless and protected by Windows Hello. I don’t maintain a separate local account or a split standard/admin setup because my workflow depends on tight integration with Microsoft services, synchronized settings, and mirrored configurations across devices.

My systems are clean, bloat‑free, and locked down through disciplined configuration rather than account separation. I run daily updates, keep Defender as my only real‑time AV, and avoid anything that modifies Windows. Because I’m the only person who uses these machines, an admin account is the most efficient and friction‑free way to operate. Security comes from good practices, not from limiting myself to a standard account.

On a personal pc, I use local admin account along with common sense by not installing any apps from unknown sources and among other things.

I do also do what is called application vetting, meaning I store only the trusted apps on a USB flash drive and that's basically it. This is how most companies do it actually but they do it through tools like Software Center or Company Portal app all of which are pre-approved apps that are safe to install meaning that you cannot install them directly from the internet.

Don't mean to sound like a broken record. But for a managed PC, let users be Standard account. And for personal machines be Admin but BE CAREFUL and use common sense.

I also run Full scans twice a week as well using Defender.
