How the hell do I hide the menu bar?

File explorer starts showing menu bar after a WinSetView run and now I don't know how to get rid of it.
As shown in the screenshot, the option to show menu bar in layout setting is already unchecked.

Thanks for your quick reply, unfortunately the relevant setting (AlwaysShowMenus) in registry is already set to 0.

I've never encountered that issue, but apparently, it helps to ensure that the Locked value under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar is set to 1. SwitchExplorer does that for you, so try switching the Explorer back and forth between the Windows 10 and Windows 11 versions using that tool (be sure to check the "Restart Explorer" checkbox).

From your screen shot, it looks like you've enabled the Windows 10 Explorer, but the menus are unexpected. Are you running any dynamic patching tools such as StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher, WindHawk, OldNewExplorer, Open Shell, or QTTabBar?

Yes I'm using StartAllBack and Open Shell (but its toolbar ActiveX is disabled).

I think there was another posting here from an Open Shell user that encountered this issue. I don't use any of those programs, so I didn't pay close attention. Hopefully someone with experience with that tool such as @hdmi will have a fix for you. I really don't think it has anything to do with WinSetView. Its option to set the Windows 10 Explorer as your default applies exactly the same registry settings as the tutorial here:
