How to block an app from updating from the store

How to block an app from updating from the store ?
Just updated the text-app and my contextmenu is now again filled with another item . 😖

Dont want this textmenu-item in my contextmenu , so if I dont update it , from store , my right-click keeps clean !
So , how(??) to block this app from updating ?? ( store) :look:

What is the name of the app? The Store has lots of choices with the words of text and app.

Its the text-app, gave me a new contextmenu-item !
Dont need it , never seen before, came with latest store-update .
Auto-updates is off , but when searching for other updates , I get this "evil update" again ( text-app ) !!
So, I have to be very fast to stop it from downloading/installing........... :wink:

btw; its the Windows Notepath , " gives" us a new contextmenu-item , which I dont want !! 😖

You can use Wordpad also ( or MS-Word ).....
Dont want to lose it , its this f**** contextmenu-item I want to remove , but HOW ??

If I know how to remove it , I can update it again with the Store............. :wink:

Let me know what you're referring to so I can check it out.
I don't use Store apps, so..., heck, I don't even have the Store on my machine, so it's a bit of a p-i-t-a to get and install them! 🤷‍♂️

Sorry Edwin , had to translate first ( Dutch to English ) .
This new contextmenu ( right-click ) is called ; " Edit with notepad " , it comes with latest notepad-update from the store.
Im using notepad , works fine , HOW ( ??) to get rid of this ( unwanted) contextmenu-item ??
Previous versions did not interfere in contextmenu , so I cant update it anymore............:what:

Yes , this is my actual version now , no sh**** contextmenu ! ( the picture is from latest version , in Shadow-modus )
But.......when updating apps ( store) , the new one ( with the ugly contextmenu ! ) will update also , IF (!) I wont stop it from updating , you have to be very fast ! So , the question ; HOW ( ??) to stop this app from updating !!! If we know a solution , the problem is solved...........

Uninstall the Store! 🤷‍♂️
Cant , will miss some other good stuff also.............
There must be another solution , for sure , its a registry-item , cant find it sofar.....!

But the easiest way would be to uninstall Notepad and to use 3rd party alternative.

How to block an app from updating from the store ?
Did you try any of the registry trick(s) described in:

I use this one:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore]
"AutoDownload"=dword:00000002
And never get any app updates at all!
Which is how I like it, as I seldomly use Windows Apps.
