Hi All
I have a root directory with a few hundred sub-directories. Most about 3 or 4 deep, Some more, some less. There are about 40 file types.
About 30% of the file names have 2 phrases that need to be removed. The phrase appears randomly in the file names; beginning, middle, or end. I do not know how they got there, but I was tasked to get this fixed.
The phrases are:
(Back file)
Back File
These are not backup files, This drive is backed up nightly. They powers that be want me to find a way to get these phrases out of all the file names. They have been there for a couple years.
I am not a programmer, just an accountant that is good with Excel. That is why they think I can do this.
I have seem some Powershell scripts on Youtube videos that can do what I need but for only one directory. I have hundreds!
Could some of you people a lot smarter then me offer some solutions?
Thanks
