How to enable MFA on local account without Microsoft account

I have a local account that purposefully set up without any connection to a Microsoft account. Is there a way to enable MFA (multi-factor authentication) on such an account without tying it to a Microsoft account?

There's no native support for this. Most of not all solutions for this are business focused such as Silverfort. Yubikey used to support this but discontinued support on Win11

Looks like MFA is the only thing you get on the free plan, but that meets your requirement Duo Free: Multi-Factor Authentication | Cisco Duo
