When I pin apps to my taskbar, they remain invisible. I can click on them and launch them by clicking on their blank icon. Once launch, the icon appears. However, I can't figure out a way to fix the issue. I have tried deleting the icon db in the appdata folder, but that didn't seems to resolve the issue.

I have noted that it only affects one profile, but I rather note delete my profile just to fix this issue. The problem has been around for a while. I feel that it affects apps installed from MS store more.

please try
create a shortcut on the desktop for the app/program your require to use from the start menu.
double click and open the desktop shortcut

this will load the icon for that app/program in the taskbar
then see if the app/program icon appearance is visible in the taskbar.

best of luck Steve ..

Crreating the shortcut and pinning the shortcut to the task bar works, but removing the shortcut and the icon disappears. I tried deleting the icon database in appdata\local but that didn't fix the issue. I keep hoping that one of the windows update will fix the issue, but nope.

A windows update will not fix an issue confined to one user profile as the problem is not a Windows problem but a user account problem.
If you use any 3rd party tool that alters the GUI, you might want to try uninstalling it. While such tools are usually installed as a system-level deployment, user configurations are separate.

save this as a .bat and run it. will clear all pinned. then see if pinning after that works.

Code:
DEL /F /S /Q /A "%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\*"
REG DELETE HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband /F
taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
start explorer.exe

Yes. Some icons refuses to attach itself to the clean taskbar because they don't allow it. There is a difference. Windows icons, and third party icons. The later category let them attach to the bar with no problems. Windows however doesn't has that "simple" options.... Have to do more effort to attach settings to my standard bar.... Why? Can be solved. See your situation and what you're experiencing now? Smells wrong!. You're system reacts not normal. Can spend a lot of time of solving your issue. But no.... Just start a In-place-instalment procedure asap!!!! (No personal data will be effected. The Windows engine will be renewed! And after an update you will be up to date as the rest of the modern legal world....) You have a damaged system. Realize that!....

No worries there! (you are using 25H2 and have a capable system for it; CPU,TPM etc. I presume... ) First start a new installment of your windows. Just download the latest version of Win 11; 25H2. Mount it. And start setup.exe while you're current Windows is running. After the installation an update it is necessary to bring your system to the latest version; 26200.7171. Link? Just click on: Download Windows 11. Once done. Is after that In-placement the problem still there?

So I tried running dacrone's script. As expected, it clear the task bar. When I add the app back, it did not fix the issue. It appears to only affect MS store installed Apps.

I don't have anything that alter the GUI, except for 7zip, which only affects the context menu.

I have reinstall this machine once already, but for some reason, things work for a while but strange things starts happening again after a while. I might try to create a new profile but right now the icon is a minor issue.

the script only cleared store apps? or are you saying the issue is that only store apps do not show their icons on the taskbar when pinned?

Try starting the app, it should show on the Taskbar.
Right click the app shortcut on the Taskbar and choose Pin to Taskbar.
Does that work?

try this .bat to clear them. unpin one (to test), then run this .bat, then pin that test app back to the taskbar to check
