Solved How to remove specific keyword from file names (batch renaming) ?

Hello!

I am using Fastflix to convert some videos and I use the batch (open folder) option. The problem is that it adds "Fastflix-xxxx" (where xxxx a random hex number) to the end of the file name. When converting individual files I can just rename them before adding to the queue or converting. But when using batch mode (open folder), there is no such option.

So I want help how to do either of the below:

- Configure Fastflix not to add this string at the end of the file name and keep the original file name instead (didn't find anything like that in setings).
- Modify the queue to remove the string (hopefully not one-by-one!)
- Batch rename the output files with PowerRename or otherwise to remove that string. The problem is that the hex number is random, not the same for all files rendering the replace feature of PowerRename useless. Can I add wildcard (? or *) to PowerRename? Is there any other renaimg tool that accepts wildcards?

I used it for ages on music file names for similar reasons. There is much more complex software, but this should help with removing set words etc.

Some of the third-party file managers [many free] can do bulk rename but all I've done required removing the same data from the file names, the Random numbers part will be difficult. I haven't any to do just now but to give an idea of the rename in Total Commander:

SOLVED! Found the appropriate expressions:

If you want to select all text starting with a specific string, then
Find: string(.*)
and Replace with: .mkv (or whatever extension the file had because it will be removed)

In my case, Find: fastflix(.*) and Replace with .mkv
Example: video1 fastflix-xxxx.mkv is renamed to video1.mkv

If you want to add a specific string at the start of the file name, then
Find: (.*).mkv (or whatever extension the file has)
and Replace with: string$1.mkv

In my case, Find: (.*).mkv and Replace with: Actor in $1.mkv
Example video1.mkv is renamed to Actor1 in video1.mkv

If you want to add a specific string at the end of the filename, then
Find: (.*).mkv and Replace with: $1string.mkv
In my case, Find: (.*).mkv and Replace with: $1 (Studio 1).mkv
Example: Actor1 in video1.mkv is renamed to Actor1 in video1 (Studio 1).mkv
