Yes. The Windows Defender team is actually very fast at responding to false positive reports from developers. Heuristic detection is always going to generate false positives, especially with utilities that touch Windows settings. Whenever a developer updates their program, there's a chance of a false positive occurring with Defender or any other AV software.

Yes, I get the same result. It seems that the definitions have not yet been updated to allow Winaero Tweaker 1.64.20. I had to whitelist it in the brief period that it shows a detection as @FrancoDT stated. It's weird that the detection clears out by itself, but it's still blocked (but not quarantined, at least for me).
I don't want to do that. ver 1.64.1 works just fine.

Did you watch the video in post one on setting the switch after the batch file run and reboot? Took me two tries on the first machine but I did it on all three now and have disabled the Win 8 compatibility in the exe properties now as everything loads fine after clearing the protection history from Windows Security.Still doesn't work.
Def v1.443.1024.0, whitelisted the .exe, ran the cmd script, rebooted, still flags it as a trojan.
Mark it as Win 8 compatible and it runs.
Go figure. No longer a trojan under W8?

Nope. MS runs MAPS (formerly known as SpyNet) to collect malware samples from millions of PC's. If you've opted-in from Defender, or are an enterprise customer running the cloud version of Defender, you're feeding into the signatures whenever the heuristics engine catches some suspicious activity.
It’s part of the icon refresh from October. You can see it on the site that talks about 365 icon updates.
