How to Set Any Image as Windows Explorer Background in Windows 11

With QTTabBar, I have to use Details View, or it'll look stupid...



and, I can only use 5 different images, 1 for each folder category...

I decided to emulate my Desktop Wallpaper as Explorer background as to have no obstructed text, no matter how full the folder...

@Edwin -
can you provide the exact path to these folder appearance settings?
I only find background color change?

if it doesn't show you have to run the exe again first before adding another image

so look at it like this 1 first run adds the image second run removes the image
and also I only have one image in the folder

I did it and still nothing
When you run the Register.cmd, does it say done or something? I run it and it just close itself in 1 second.

Maybe you should download it again It Looks Like you missing a file or 2
after you run a popup say succeded and a CMD window opens up say press any key to close

Not remember any more, but I did it how it is writen on that site. Maybe you try it how Edwin did it with QTTabBar.

Files are the same
I just don't know why it has no message after running Register.cmd

I thinl you get no message. You see the image in all your folders. The image stand in the folder image. You change the image in what you like and find out witch resolution the image must been.

I tried with default image or custom images with different resolutions.
Still nothing

Maybe start over from the beginning. Delete what you have know and reboot your pc.

I managed to make it work
Register.cmd still doesn't work but I used this code from github description to register it
the code: regsvr32 "your path/ExplorerBgTool.dll"
original code had /u but terminal didn't accept it!

Its ok now? Nice and enjoy it Elisyan regards Michel

Good to hear that :)

I found a gem called ExplorerBlurMica to change background of Explorer.
You can use it with explorerTool if you want.
It's from the same developer.

Mica, Acrylic or solid colors for this app
You can use explorerTool to change the background to whatever you want (not the nav bar or toolbar)
I'm not sure about text color but I think there was a way to change that

I saw that the image was the same PNG file, so I didn't look any further. I'm actually quite happy with it for now.

I now use Windows 10 Folder Image Changer to give the folders all their own background. With this you can also give each folder its own font color. The disadvantage is that the backgrounds are only displayed for a very short time. If you log out and log in again and assign a folder an image and then only click ok (so not go back to the place where the photo is stored). After doing that you will see the backgrounds again. Anyone have any idea what I can do so that I always see the backgrounds.
