Well, WinRAR stored all passwords you have used to unpack files.
Dont know where (?) we can find them , maybe could safe them first , before uninstalling WinRAR.........

saved passwords are stored in Registry in insecure format. So anybody having access to your computer may be able to retrieve them.

You can either type them out into password manager, or do some detective work with process monitor to figure out registry location.

I simply keep all credentials in an encrypted Notepad...

I'll say ease of use is important, but it should not take priority over the primary purpose which is security.

If you keep secrets in a text file that means as soon as it gets decrypted it's accessible to other software.

Password managers however should be able decrypt a file (master database) in memory such that decrypted contents are within private process memory which other processes can't simply access.

They're not that secret, just a half-a$$ method of safe keeping, is all!

We can only dream about underground vault lol, I'm pretty sure even if you keep no secrets in it the government would seek to gain access to it in the name of national security to remove suspicion lol
