I've been trying to use the latest edition of memtest86.
Following the instructions in the extracted zip folder, I put a copy on a USB drive using the enclosed executable for that purpose.
When the process is complete it looks like (in "Drive Management") the USB has 4 partitions, one being EFI with a Windows 11 designated drive letter, and another with a designated drive letter labeled "RAW" which I'm guessing is the memtest emulation. Not sure about the other two spaces since Windows doesn't label them.
Windows keeps requesting to format the RAW partition which has a drive letter associated. So I just ignore that and attempt to boot by using BIOS to designate the USB. But when I get to BIOS it doesn't have that USB as bootable. It shows up in the USB part of the information but just not in the booting options.
I've read the instructions at the PassMark site several times and rebuilt the USB several times including the enclosed tool to zero out the USB a couple of times to make sure nothing interfered.
Anyone have experience overcoming hurdles with the new memtest?
