    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

@Winuser Taking the backs off is ok it's putting them back is the prob. I watched a You Tube video for mine so as to see where the parts were and they gave me a good tip for lid removal and replacement for Alienware laptops. Worth a look in case there are any tips

I have a very old HP laptop that has dual HDDs. I set it up as a dual boot system with each drive having its own OS. I forget what OSs I have installed. I think one is Win 7. The other I think is either XP or Vista.

keep in mind, some RAMs on laptops are non-removable (soldered to the board). Just something to consider.

Not really. Usually the very light ones that are very thin and portable like my ASUS 14" zenbook.

Have a Older HP Omen 15_ce019dx model, very hard to get bottom cover off, or at least the final screw out to even access internals on mine or i might already have the m.2 updated on it, and storage drive, and memory lol.

I'll probably end up having local shop get the bottom cover open eventually, and then upgrade at least the memory--as think Memory Still Free install when purchased there

Some are though the upgrade is usually limited to drives and adding/replacing RAM. My 2014 Asus Zenbook Prime (UX31A) has the modules soldered in and that's it. My 2017 Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga X1 RAM is already maxed (16gig), but I can replace the NVMe drive.

Also be aware just because my laptop can be upgraded, doesn't mean yours can. Again, my 2014 Asus Zenbook Prime (model UX31A) can be ram upgraded, but other Zenbook Prime models could. So always double check before listening to someone saying you can when your particular notebook can't!

I fired up my old laptop, it is a HP Pavillion dv7-1240US laptop. It came with Windows Vista Home Premium. The second drive does have Windows 7 installed. It also came with a DVD RW drive with LightScribe. The only thing I didn't like was the keyboard. Unless the light was perfect, I couldn't see the letters on the keys. I had to use a USB keyboard because I don't touch type.

I don't think the memory is soldered. When the memory gets here, I'll make sure I can use them before I do anything. I watched a YouTube how-to video of the exact model I have. In the video it was very easy. He took off the back and removed the battery to get access. Then he took off the shield over the memory and unlocked them.

Yeah i was considering that, have the memory done, 128GB M.2 drive done, and 1TB storage drive done at same time, Diagnostic/labor fee usually $45.00 that includes repair or a bit of it, not including parts prices lol.

They built my Desktop last June 2020

Other factors that can be checked for HP notebooks:

a) are there DIMM located behind the keyboard as these RAM cannot be removed until the keyboard has been removed
b) have you run their free hardware diagnostics to make sure that all components pass?
