HttpService Eventlog ID 113/114 - Whats up with this
I keep seeing this in my eventlog, not sure whats up with it
ID 113:

Is this something I need to worry about? Since it's upnp is this a security concern? Seems to be happening a couple times per hour. This is what it looks like when I filter for those Events.

Little update on this the process id when converted to decimal relates to the SSDP service. I'm assuming this is just windows seeing whats on the network. Since this is Windows 11 the default network setting is public and I use Bitdefender with Stealth mode on for the Firewall so I'm not sure if SSDP is actually doing anything.

In Services... I'm not on a Network, so I have SSDP disabled on my stand alone computer.
UPnP is set to Manual.
I don't see those Info ID numbers in Event Log.

Yeah I just disabled SSDP. I figured if the service isn't running I won't be seeing it in event viewer. I'm pretty sure it was SSDP/upnp sitting there every 20-40 minutes and looking for stuff on the network. I don't really get what SSDP handles. It's disabled, but I can still connect to my printer and cast to my TV from edge. Upnp is for port forwarding in p2p situations in games and other applications, right? Most of what I play is server based so its not a big deal. I figured if I need to host a p2p game I'll just forward the ports on my router and delete them when I'm done.

i have SSDP disabled but i also have UPnP disabled
as well in services. my system is a stand alone system
no net connections other then the internet.

I just Disabled UPnP too, and my joystick still works and my Android phone still connects as usual.
Here's a handy little batch file. It will clear ALL the entries in Event Viewer.
This will give you a clean start... so you will notice
new Info, Error, Warning or Critical ID numbers when they pop up.
Keep in mind that Event Viewer is getting kind of moldy. MS hasn't been keeping up on it like they should.
So take most Event Viewer things with a grain of salt.

i think there maybe a bit of misunderstanding on UPnP
UPnP is not really for any hardware connected directly to the system
UPnP is more for connecting to hardware that is connected elsewhere
and is not connected directly to the system but to another system
that you may wish to connect to and that hardware connected to that system.
if you visit Shields Up Gibson research has quite a bit of information on UPnP
along with some very nice security software. its worth a look.

I've had a perfect score on this since the XP days.
First with Zonealarm (till they messed that up), and lately with Bitdefender's firewall.
It can probably be done with any decent firewall.
Set it to Block All, except what you choose to let through.
For those new to Shields Up, use the link in post #7 above, then click on "Proceed", then click on "All Service Ports".
Then you'll see if your computer is truly... "stealthed".

does your router have a firewall because if it does then that 100% green means the firewall on the router is working just fine but the firewall on the system hasn't been tested. you will have to disable the router firewall to test the system firewall.
