I finally have an issue that needs solved...

Sometime around the July or August update(s), Microsoft decided that just seeing a Libraries folder, wasn't representative of their ideas.
So, they ripped the Libraries folder open, and splattered it's contents all over the place.

The Paint Shop Pro 7.04 Save window is probably the best example I have on MY computer.
The Paint Shop Pro settings are identical on Win 10 and Win 11.

The exact same program on both Windows 10 and Windows 11, screen shots taken after today's updates...
I keep hoping that one of these updates will put all that junk back in the Libraries folder... but Nooooo. LOL










As you can clearly see, Microsoft has gotten entirely out of hand. They've gone off the deep end, around the bend, let's just say it, they're... out in left field without a paddle.

Does anybody know how to stick all that cr*p back into the Libraries folder?

I also see this behavior (Win 11 only), when I right click a zipped file and choose: 7zip > Extract files, and then click on the browse button to tell 7zip where I want to extract to.

I agree, my Explorer has been looking like that for quite a while. I'd love to be able to clean up this mess as well.

Well, you can remove all that junk from Explorer.
For example... see the bottom pic up above.


A few registry patches and some messing with the File Explorer settings.

Mainly the Add/Remove Folders, and the Add/Remove Home/Quick Access tutorials, about half way down.

I don't quite see anything in that wonderful list of tweak links labelled what might look like it might apply to my irritation. I don't have all the icons you show, though that may be that I have a different view applied. Here is my Explorer showing the "unneeded" icons Home, Gallery, Music, Pictures, and Videos:

I did them in the order I posted them. That probably doesn't matter, but ya never know.

I can see it in your screens but, I do not have all the "junk" in mine. Libraries is still intact
in all of Explorer windows and in Move or in Screenpresso's save as or in Paint save as.

Another option I could deal with, if we can't get this junk back in the Libraries folder... is to just completely remove them from Windows 11. It's not like I need them or anything.
Haven't needed them since the day MS invented them.

Remember this is NOT Explorer... this is a Save as... dialog box.



It auto-defaults to Documents, which is stupid for an image editor.
Once I set is back to Desktop, it stays on Desktop, until I run CCleaner again... then it's back to this BS.

Well.... I solved the Paint Shop Pro problem.... sort of.
I UN-checked it in CCleaner. Now every time I Save something... it's still set to... Desktop.

I guess I'll have to see if NOT cleaning PSP 7, has any other side effects.





I mean... all the Libraries cr*p is still there if I click the drop down arrow in the Save dialog.
BUT... now it doesn't auto-default to "Documents" after I run CCleaner.





Unchecking 7zip, didn't have the same effects.
